National Transformation Party (NTP) Statement on the Disobedience of Court Orders by Acting Inspector General Masengeli

Published on 2024-09-06 18:02:56

Date: 6th , Sept, 2024

The National Transformation Party (NTP) strongly condemns the repeated failure of Acting Inspector General Masengeli to appear before the court to explain the abduction of three men in Kitengela. This blatant disregard for the rule of law undermines the very foundations of justice and accountability in our nation.

No one, regardless of their rank or office, should be above the law. Court orders are not mere suggestions—they are binding legal obligations that must be respected and adhered to by all citizens, especially those entrusted with upholding the law. The actions of the Acting IG set a dangerous precedent that threatens the integrity of our judicial system and fosters a culture of impunity within the security sector.

The NTP believes in a Kenya where justice prevails and public officers are held to the highest standards of accountability. We call upon the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action to ensure that the Acting IG is held responsible for his continued defiance of the law. Failure to do so will erode public trust in our institutions and compromise the safety and rights of all Kenyans.

The National Transformation Party stands with all those who demand justice and accountability. We urge all Kenyans to remain vigilant in protecting the rule of law and ensuring that those who abuse their power are held to account.

Signed

National Transformation Party ( NTP)
